Everyone has a dream. Even when we were little kids we had things that we looked forward to, things we wanted to accomplish in life. On the contrary, can our dreams in life harm us in the long-run? Does it make people greedier? Of Mice and Men relates to this aspect in our daily lives. The majority of the characters in Of Mice and Men had big dreams and ambitions. Their dreams did more harm than good. Their desires brought on a chain reaction of various conflicts that were sometimes fatal. Take Curley for instance, his dream was to be a ‘man’. Curley wanted everyone to be intimidated by him, he wanted to be a man that was respected by everyone. Physically, Curley is a tiny man and for that reason Curley wanted everyone on the ranch to see

When she was younger, a guy told her she was meant to be star, he asked her to be in a movie. Curley’s wife explained in one point in the book how her mother would not let her. Curley’s wife even believed that her mother had hidden letters from her after I man said he would write her so she could come to Hollywood. She resented her mother, moved out and married Curley. She was a woman on a ranch surrounded by working men. Curley’s wife knew that she was a gorgeous woman, for that reason she wanted all the attention from the guys. After Lennie killed the pup, Curley’s wife came into the barn. She told Lennie about her dreams, what her mother had done, and how she did not even love Curley. Lennie told her how he loved to pat soft things, she decided to let him feel her soft curls. After Lennie would not release her hair, she began to get frightened and tried to pull her hair out of his grasp. Lennie would not let go. She began to yell so Lennie covered her mouth with his hand, he did not mean harm, he wanted her to stop yelling so George would not hear and get upset at Lennie. However, Lennie did not realize just how string he was and he snapped Curley’s wife’s neck. Maybe if Curley’s wife’s dreams had not made her ego so magnificent, maybe if she would not have needed all of that attention. She would probably still be
