Curfews Should Be Allowed In High School

The city council is considering placing a curfew that would make it illegal for teenagers to be on the streets after 10pm on weekdays and after midnight on weekends. This curfew should be set in place. Keeping teens of the streets after 10pm would make it more likely that they would get to bed at a decent time and be well rested for school the next day. On weekends keeping teens off the streets past midnight would help keep them safe from harm such as drunk drivers leaving bars. Placing these curfews in effect would help keep teens safe, help keep them well rested for school, and possibly even lower the crime rate.

Sleep is said to be as important as the air you breathe and the water you drink. Placing a curfew of 10pm on teens would mean they would be able to be in bed by 11pm. If a teen went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 6am for school they would have a full 7 hours of sleep, which is the recommended amount. Being well rested would help the teens perform better at school and get better grades.
In some counties where a curfew has been set in place for teens, the crime rate has lowered tremendously. When living in an area with not so much to do, teens often turn to committing crimes for fun. Most crimes are committed at night, when no one can see. With teens being at home by 10pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends, the crime couldn’t completely stop but it could be lowered. Which, would in turn, help the community, and possibly even help create more well rounded teens.
In conclusion, placing a set curfew would tremendously help communities. It would also help teens get better rest which could help them perform better at school and get better grades which could also help with a future. On weekends the curfew of midnight would help with keeping teens safe by lowering the chances that they are on a road driving while a drunk driver is also. Curfews placed on teens would help create a better community, well rested teens, and keep teens more

A curfew simply decreases the time period and makes teenagers get done what they have to do in a shorter period of time. Teenagers aren't looking for trouble while they are out late at night, they are looking for entertainment and something to do. Rather than installing a curfew for teenagers, it is a better idea to not let teenagers into some places and adding an age limit unless they are accompanied by an adult. A curfew is again an unnecessary restriction on people's lives. Government cannot control all aspects of someone's life.…
