City Council is debating on new law for teens to go by . They are trying to adoption a weekday curfew of ten p.m. for us . An aslo weekend curfew at midnight . To me I think this is unfair to teenagers because there maybe a good and acceptable reason why a teen is out so late . Reasons maybe have to do with a teen working late on weekdays or weeends . Its can also be an emerency on why an teen is out late at night . During this period of time a lot teenagers under the age of eighteen or twentyone are working at some kind of jobs . Allow with a parents permission some teens are allowed to stay past nine o'clock or ten o'clock . For them to work past these hours they may get off of work really late . It all depend of how their work scheldule goes , so you can blame an teen for being out past a certain …show more content…
Therefore for city council to try to put out a curfew or ten o'clock it could effect their job . You'll never know what goes on in people life , for an teen to be out late past a certain time . So many things may happen unexpectly or it could be an serious emerency on why . An teens car could have broken down and is trying to look for some help. Also can be a family matter where one is trying to get where they need to go . Or a parent forgets to get there teenager and they have to walk or catch a bus home . Or it maybe be a simple reason as ,an teen could just be waiting to get pick up or catch a ride . However , it shouldn't be a law against an teenager at all for these reaasons . On the weekend that is like the perfect time to have fun with family and friends . They are so many activies you can do . An indoor or outdoor places you could go.You can go to midnight bowling with your friends or family. You could go on a date , catch a late movie , going to eat a late dinner with family or even going camping . To abopt a cufew for the weekend you probably couldn't do some of things and exprience the

    v. State of Florida. I chose to go with the minority opinion, there are many reasons as to why a minor would be out past 11 p.m. From many past experiences, I can recall times when I had to errands. There are many reasons as to why a minor would be out during that time, such as family emergency, last minute errands, or even school projects with a friend. A curfew time should not be set by the law; this is more of a personal family problem that each family can solve by themselves. I believe that a curfew should be set by the guardian of the…

It can also affect many school activities with having to start later and end sooner since the day ends faster. Teens shouldn’t be affect with these possibilities of not being in an activity because the later changes. There has been a non-scientific survey that has reported 50 percent of parent that have agree or are undecided with the new time changes and 60 percent of staff agreed with the change. I believe that parents think it’s right for their children to start later or earlier because of the evidence that they have been provided about their children academic improvement. Staff had worked in school with the children and they might also believe it is right because it can change their school education but they don’t understand that it can affect the different schools because it will not be the same times for all…

Most teens prefer texting rather than talking out loud. There are things that they do not want their parents or anyone else to know about. Usually, teens do not like talking in public around others about our personal lives. Also, teenagers like to send their friends rather odd pictures of themselves, which can’t be done by talking on the phone. It is unlike business people to not carry a phone on them, using it to talk about their work or keeping in touch with family.…

Bob Battles supports this by stating, “Plus, your average teen doesn’t have the same skills that a worker in, say, their 20’s have.” (Battles pg. 22) Another issue is that teens are restricted by law as to what jobs they can do. Battles stated, “At grocery stores, for example, teens under 18 can bag goods, but they aren’t allowed to operate a cardboard-box compactor. ”(Battles…

When teenagers turn 18, the vision of ‘freedom’ is all they see. In reality, turning 18 means a lot more responsibility and duties. Also, when they turn 18 they think they are finally free from their parents and can do whatever they’d like. Being ‘free’ from your parents isn’t always a good thing as these teenagers believe, especially not before Obamacare was introduced. For example, when it comes to health care, ‘being free’ wouldn’t be a perk.…

Most parents work early schedules that allow them to fit time in to drop their children off on the way home from school, if the school schedules are altered then the teens will have no way of getting to school. Most households who are already accommodated to waking up at their school times to adjust that is to rearrange their whole routine. In the passage “ High schools will keep starting too early. Here's why” in paragraph three it states that, “ Sleep deprived teenagers are more likely to crash cars get depressed, and become obese” these issues can be solved very easily by teens going to sleep at earlier times to get themselves used to their early…

Today more and more citizens are becoming careless when it comes to the law. They think it is some silly rule that they do not need to follow. Frank Trippett in this excerpt from “A Red Light for Scofflaws” argues that Americans are used to thinking that the law-and-order is threatened mainly by violent crime and if little laws like littering speeding or noise pollution are a big deal or not. He explains how people seem to think you are a fool if you obey the rules. All laws are laws and they are made for a reason.…

The average teenager needs 8-10 hours of sleep each night to maintain a healthy lifestyle, according to the National Sleep Foundation. Their circadian rhythm causes them to want to fall asleep around 11:00 pm and need approximately 9 hours of sleep every night, which result in teenagers waking up later too. A good solution would be to have a later school-start time. However, problems that might have been overlooked in the past are now resurfacing. All of these situations suggest a later start time is not a viable solution.…

Since getting my license at age 16, I have been able to dive to work. Driving allows teens to do a lot more in terms of responsibility. The driving age should remain at the age of 16 because it allows the teen to set a job, not worry about catching a bus, and teaches them responsibitity. It is important for a teen to have a job at the age of 16. Teens do not have to rely on their parents for everything such as buying gas and jast food a person does not have to rely on a parent to get to his job.…
