Car wrecks occur everyday and a large percent of them involve teenagers. A city council is debating the adoption of a 10 P.M weekday curfew and a 12 A.M weekend curfew for teenagers. I agree that there should be a weekday and weekend curfew for teenagers because they tend to get in trouble past 10 P.M or midnight, there are drunk drivers on the road, and it can be hard to see the roads at night. Teenagers are known for getting themselves into meanness or trouble, and most of the time they get into trouble at night time. Teenagers and young people throw parties late at night, including underage drinking. Teenagers are also known for sneaking out to meet up with people in the early hours of the morning. An abundance of teengers have jobs that require them to work late shifts that could be past the curfew time. Consequently, if he or she was to get pulled over by a policeman, then the teenager would be charged for breaking the law. If the city council were to adopt the curfew, then there should be an exception for valid reasoning as to why the young person was out very late.
Furthermore, teenagers are new and inexperienced drivers on the road. Roads can be difficult to see at night, and car’s headlights can hurt someone’s eyesight. There are also pedestrians on the roads at night that can be difficult to spot, causing a teenger to possibly hit them. If there were a curfew adopted then teengers would not have to worry about the struggles of driving on the roads late at night.
In conclusion, adopting a curfew for teengers is a tremendous idea. Lives could be saved, and horrible lessons would not have to learned. I agree that there should be a weekday and weekend curfew because it would keep teengers out of trouble, it would prevent accidents of drivers under the influence, and inexperienced drivers could have difficulty seeing the roads at
