Curfew Persuasive Essay

We as teenagers are allowed our freedom or are we not? Yes if we were to have a curfew rule that is against our freedom, for we have so many rules we have to follow and passing a new one is unreasonable. Violence that happens at night or past midnight isn't necessarily due to the fact that we are out in the streets at the time, but it’s due to those who are much older than us that start it. If violence occurs police should stay vigilant and watch over what we do so nothing happens. No curfew, more police roaming around the streets, less violence, and we have our freedom.

The city council should not pass this curfew rule to prevent further issues with kids and some parents. 5 states and 20 cities have already passed this curfew rule taking

Nora Gold states that curfew laws take away some of the civil rights that teens and young adults have as Americans. Gold states in her essay, “The most obvious constitutional problem is that curfews grant police the power to detain citizens for nothing more than appearing young.” This quote is stating that curfew laws punish anyone who is out after a certain time just because they look young. This also gets in the way of teens who work night shifts for their job or even just being outside their house on the sidewalk (Gold, Nd). Another thing that curfew laws violate are some rights that the teens have from the first amendment, which are not allowing them to go to religious services and even meeting for school that take place at night (Gold,…

Argument Essay What if I told you that the reason teens not being able to go to bed before 11 isn’t mainly their fault. Sure if they 're watching YouTube eating, and drinking energy drinks all night long than we could say that this is primarily the reason they complain about being tired for school. But what about the kids that find themselves tossing and turning all night long until they realize they 're alarm just went off. Various students find themselves waking up anywhere from 6am, to 7am right before their bus comes.…

If all these groups strengthen the law together, there would be more and more kids respecting the law, and staying in school. Many kids at that age will not understand why they are being forced to remain in education until age 18. That is why parents, along with the groups and organizations named above must collaborate to enforce the daytime curfew law. The nighttime curfew law, in my opinion, is a more difficult law to enforce.…

“In New Jersey a 17-year-old girl was cited for walking to a fast-food restaurant near her home after curfew even though she had permission” (Fichera). If someone has permission to do something they should have the right to do it. Teens will end up disliking the police even more if they get in trouble for something like that. A reason curfew should not be changed is because parents get worried when they don’t know where their kids are.…
