1. Culture consists of beliefs, religions, customs, and various other characteristics that are common, or sometimes even define a group of people. It is through culture that groups of people conform into societies. Societies can be very similar, which typically occurs with close geographical proximity, but the world is large, and business is now done with people from various parts of the globe. It is important to understand the culture of society of where you are conducting your business, what is acceptable or a norm in one place, may be rude or frowned upon in another. The cultural differences from various societies can be minimal or vast, and something that is considered normal in one can be considered rude in another. For instance, in the United States it is considered common to hold eye contact while conducting a conversation while this is seldom the case in the United Kingdom. Although most would consider United Kingdom and United States to be fairly similar, even when comparing them on the Hofstede analysis, a small cultural factor pertaining to that society could have been misinterpreted. I would evaluate the technological capabilities of the people involved in this globally dispersed group. After which I would evaluate the various time zones involved and come up with a plan and ettiquete of contacting each other. Due to the time differences various forms of communication is more efficient then the next and certain cultures use them differently. After evaluating all of these aspects I would narrow it down to a plan, it is hard to set a specific one until the problems are identified. After the problems are identified I would see if emailing is preferred over phone calls, establish how often email should be checked, and various other problems that lead to social distance that need to be
