Literacy is a very interesting topic to study. Studding literacy in different cultures is very interesting too, because there are so many different cultures that use literacy differently. Culture influences literacy because children learn from the people around them. This chapter was interesting to me, because I have always wondered why students from different areas talk and sound so different. I just assumed that since you go to school like me that you would talk, read, and communicate just like me. For most of my life I grew up in a little town in Illinois, called Riverton.
