The purpose of this report is to demonstrate and discuss my own understanding of cultural awareness, cultural intelligence and cultural capabilities through presenting a short video excerpt of movie which will assist to depict a safe space within an academic environment. Firstly, it will briefly summarise the story of the movie and introduce main characters, the ways of interaction between one character to another, the type of setting where the interactions occur and why this particular video clip was selected as an example of a safe space. Subsequently, this report will provide four components that would corroborate an interpretation of a culturally safe space, followed by recommendations for the enhancement on safe space in academic setting. The characteristics of personal and physical space of the chosen film will then be thoroughly explained and if it is analysed as safe on making or maintaining the space three recommendations will be discussed. Lastly, there will be a conclusion which will recapitulate all of the information presented in this report.
