It calls for Africans to see each other as human beings and share their interconnectedness amongst one another. Ubuntu bases its values on the fact that it is impossible to be a human being all on your own, and therefore, there is a need for communities to come together. It is therefore no secret that community living is an important value among Africans. Africans should embrace the fact that in their culture, it is customary to treat members of one’s community with hospitality and love, just as one would treat their own blood relatives. This is because Africans believe that all the members of the community play a significant role in making Africa great, which falls in line with the African philosophy of Ubuntu. It is therefore important for Africans and members of the African diaspora to build a relationship with communities, both internally and externally (within the country and from other countries). Africans can do this by learning about other people’s cultures and customs. This learning can be achieved through formal education about the people’s history and modern lives. This can also be achieved through deep intentional conversations with other people.
