During the movie, we get familiar with some cultural symbols for both countries. For India: the hierarchy within and the importance of the family, bargaining, inviting guests inside the restaurant and national clothes, spices. For France: cooking with wine, being cold and distant with the unknown, greeting habits (kisses on the cheeks) and nationalism.
