My next goal would be the cultural engagement and understanding the basic principal of different cultural perception people have. In a business world people tend to understand someone else point of view before they tend to engage and communicate. Therefore, it’s really important to know about the concept and framework. According to Keysar “many actions and words have multiple meanings. In order to sort out what a person really means, we need to gain some perspective on what he or she might be thinking” (Nauert, 2015). His view clearly explains what exactly what’s my goals stands for and going to be involved. Therefore, my first point of action would be to:

Based on the different cultural perception and diverse perspectives I have to follow well-structured theories, frameworks and models. Research show Civic Engagement Theory would be best one to use. This is because it focused on involvement in community services and networking. Therefore, by applying Civic Engagement Theory I could be able to measure the involvement and attribution in the areas that I’m working on such as diverse community relationship, social obligations and understanding different cultural perspectives (Terano, 2007).

• Develop self-awareness measurement – By conducting self-awareness test or assessment to identify self-strengths and weakness – I could carry out self-awareness assessment or test to identify my measurement. It could be done through online such as 123test and other sites
• Establishing the base line where I will be measuring the progress and success in terms of my involvement with other cultural back ground.
• Developing a self-rating scale based on my interaction and success of my work.

Where in the organisation it involves few or no level of middle management between the higher management and bottom level of employees. We can say it’s a one layer of management operation. Where the chain of command from top to bottom is short and the span of control is wide. Which mean that employees will be more productive and directly involved in the decision making process of an organisation. This is what I will be carrying it out in our company. Ceylon Trading Private Limited will have narrow span of control this is because company have one manager and few employees who directly reports to them. There are number advantages relates to Flat Structure of an organisation such as cost efficient, allows faster decision making, clear communication across all departments, require less supervision between higher management and employees. Whereas the disadvantage of flat organisational structure would be there is a chance management can easily lose control, work personal relationship could be in struggle, can create power difference and less motivation between employees.
