This is the most obvious reason why I value integrity. I like to do the right thing even when nobody is watching. I would feel guilty doing something bad behind the backs of others. My will to always do the right thing clarifies my value towards integrity. However, when I mess up, I take the blame for my actions. I do not want to hold the guilt of wrongdoings on my shoulders. While watching the movie Crash, I was following a certain character and paying attention to his experiences. This character is Officer Tom Hansen who is played by Ryan Phillippe. I watched his various encounters with the other characters throughout the movie and focused on his interpersonal communication involving culture, self and identity, and perception and attribution which we learned about in Unit 1. Scholarship, service, leadership, and character are the characteristics that lay the foundation for success and are the reason why I perform at such a high degree in everything that I do. Although I’ve always had high ambitions for myself, the scholarship aspect of the National Honor Society confirms the importance of education and also reaffirms that anything is possible and it made easier with academic achievement. However, any achievement, academic or not, is meaningless to me if I don’t give back one way or another to the people who made my success possible including teachers, school staff members, fellow classmates, parents, and friends. On top of this, I learned that the smallest of gestures can make a big difference in someone’s life…

It is necessary to understand what culture is before attempting to observe the actions of people. If not I will be looking at the situation through the eyes of a customer and not an observer.
