It drew my attention that the majority of people at present are not aware of the circumstances where they might be marginalized. It is important to recognize the presence of the structures of oppression in the issues that our society faces today to think of strategies to meet the needs of clients. Unfortunately, a considerable number of opportunities have been denied to people in seek of help due to some structures of marginalization in agencies, organizations, churches and political groups. Because organizations, and/or agencies have a preset standard of requirements that they expect people to meet, such as certain annual income, race, or sex, they do not help anyone who reach out for help.
As a Structural Social Worker, it is my priority to contribute to reduce social inequality and support through counselling, advocacy or education those who have been oppressed by structural barriers. In order this reach this goal, I would educate myself in depth about issues of oppression, marginalization and inequality as it would allow me to have better understanding of social issues to be able to help clients effectively, especially help those who are experiencing marginalization at
