Cultural Literacy: Why Do I Read The Old Testament

From the reading of my course material The Old Testament should be read and studied because it is the foundation to cultural literacy. The Old Testament teaches us how to love and serve God and learn the presence of Gods character. There are so many lessons to be learned about the many fulfillments and the inspiring words of God throughout the Old Testament. The understanding of the Old Testament is to know God better and our place in his plan before we read the New Testament.
Why do I read the Old Testament? I read the bible because everyone has differs of opinion and to get clear understanding of what I may have heard from the teaching of others I need to fill my knowledge with evidence. I must honestly say that I have never read the entirety
