This paper discusses the culture in many aspects on my chosen interviewee. Throughout this interview we discussed many aspects throughout his culture from how he grew up, rituals he inherited growing up as well as his own rituals he developed for himself to include throughout his day, family traditions, issues of racism and discrimination, and his opinion on different things within his culture. This interview did not take up the full hour, but with me giving my interviewee the freedom to talk freely about his culture I obtained a lot of information that I could incorporate into my paper. He particularly mentioned eating seafood, his family would sit on the floor with a stove that sits on the ground and they would cook different types of meat and seafood. To him and his family this was like a good time of gathering together and interacting as well as good food and memories being made every time they come together for this gathering. I, myself speaking from experience I can say that I am sure he felt a greatly affected by how he was treated being the only Asian American. After reading, watching videos, and completing discussions pertaining to Asian Americans, it was different to hear firsthand that someone had racial slurs yelled at them for looking and being different than the others around him. That was something that I would
