Everyone should immerse themselves into the kpop world at least once in their life. People nowadays are so quick to judge anything remotely different. Kpop is influenced by western music and there is much more brought to the table than music in the kpop industry. I believe that if they looked past the differences and experienced kpop they would enjoy it.
In kpop, there is not one idol or group that is unattractive to a majority of people. Kpop groups and idols are chosen primarily based on their attitudes and visual aspects as opposed to talent, although talent is very much present within the kpop world. When it comes to anything groups and idols say regarding an upcoming event, you can guarantee that there is a hint within their words. When BTS won an award at the AMA’s their acceptance speech held a hint to their new album. Rap Monster ended with “Love myself; Love yourself”. Later it was revealed that the title of their campaign to bring love to the world was titled Love Myself and their new album was named Love Yourself. Also everything is purposely interlinked and connected. Albums, MVs, songs, promotions, and tours all have something to do with one another. Many MVs tell a story when put together. When idols need space the fans are very respectful of them and don’t ask for pictures or stop them to get an autograph. In return kpop groups give gifts to fans such as bringing together an era that the fans decide and want or making something for them and giving it to them at fansigns and tours. Fan Bases are also very close with one another. BTS’ ARMY are split into Korean fans, k-diamonds, and International fans, I-lovelies. These two groups help each other translate, make, and praise videos and messages from idols. They also band together to protect BTS. They once planned it out and sent flowers to radio stations in the U.K. and U.s. for playing BTS on the radio, leaving them a note thanking them for helping BTS and being so kind as to do that. Kpop fans accept the groups no matter what flaws they may or may not have and don’t expect them to change. They support groups during rough times and help them through whatever may be causing them trouble. These are the reason I think that people should experience the full impact of kpop and broaden their horizons. They should keep and open mind about different things because once someone does they learn new things and appreciate different aspects of others’ lives more.
