Cultural identifiers that were found throughout research, sexual orientation and the groups that hang around one another. It is noticeable that many student who identifies as having feelings for the same sex feel isolated and like something is wrong with them and therefore do not gain the acceptance they feel is necessary to fit in with all of the other students as a whole, (Adams, 2015). This can make for a challenging school experience as well as the rest of their lives. Throughout history there have been many debates about whether or not LGBT issues should be taught in school, or left to the student to wonder and figure out on their own. Many parents believe that same-sex issues have no place in curriculum that is paid for by their taxes, while some believe it is important to know and explore issues a number of students face daily. For example, one parent believes homosexuality should be taught in in school because many students do not understand homosexuality and should not have to remain in the dark, or feel weird because they have feelings for the same sex, (Debate, 2016).
