In a Speech By RADM Teo Chee Hean, Minister For Education And 2nd Minister For Defence at the launch of the Masterplan for IT in Education on 28 April 1997, he mentioned that students must be comfortable with new technologies and be able to exploit these new technologies to venture beyond their current boundaries and open up new frontiers of knowledge. This will equip future generations of students with the sufficient skills in ICT to propel with the pervasiveness of these technologies around the world. This also ensures that citizens will not be left behind with the advancements all over the world.
