This course has taught me a lot about cultural diversity that I was previously unaware of. Granted, I have always had at least a tolerance towards other cultures and ethnicities that were different from my own, but this class has helped me to learn more about those cultures and taught me to have more of an acceptance for those cultures rather than just tolerating them. I have also learned that all cultures, races, and ethnicities should have the chance to be understood and accepted for who they are, rather than what the media portrays them as. I believe that some of the challenges the United States will face in the growing diversity of its people is being able to accommodate the different religions that will be widespread throughout the country, financial accommodations will need to be made to help those who opt for receiving help from the government while they pursue a college education or a career, and of course there will be an issue with housing accommodations. There is only so much available land throughout the country that has yet to be built upon, and eventually that land will have to be taken away and converted into living spaces for the new immigrants that are coming in over the years. However, I believe having such a diverse society would bring many benefits, providing prejudice can be overcome and people can learn to accept others for who they are as human beings rather than judging them based on their ethnic or cultural backgrounds. We could all learn so many things from exploring different cultures, even learn more about our own cultural histories in the process. Fostering a climate of acceptance and cultural pluralism in the United States is something that will take a while to overcome. Having a leader that values the strengths and morals of each individual culture will be a necessity in the process, and that person must also be able to teach the entire
