Decent Essays
Luke, friends Do you want to get away from main land and go somewhere different? I think that Hawaii the place. For the beaches, food, and to go fishing. There is a fishing competition this Friday and I have 10 ticket. I heard that the beaches are awesome. We could be there all day. We could go in the water and body board. Then we can go on the beach and dry off. At night we could have a fire or a party on the beach. At night when we are hungry we can go to a restaurants. The food is from a lot of different cultures. It is really good. We could eat in till we are full. Then we go relax. We can eat at the hotel. After we eat we can go fishing.
When we go fishing we will fish off the beach. Also a boat in deep water.

The camp you will be staying at is off the coast of Southern California and is on the North Western side of Catalina. It is 22 miles from Los Angeles which is where you board the ship that takes you to Catalina. When you are outside (or sometimes even when you are inside), the temperature is normally really warm and sometimes humid so I would suggest bringing and applying sunscreen in the morning and after every meal. Some of the native plants are eucalyptus trees, pine trees, moss, and cherry trees. The cherries that are on Catalina Island are different than what we are used to.…

If you are in search of walleyes, you stand a better chance of success if you fish along the shore in sandy areas, but this is not always the case. Small trout and other species of fish can also be caught along the shore, but they are not prize winning fish. Going out on lakes and rivers in a boat, has been a popular way to fish for many years.…

Growing up in a Hawaiian/white family I have always been surrounded by both cultures; from experiencing what it means to be a local in Hawaii, to experiencing a Haole (or white) culture. I have seen it all in regards to how each culture is different, along with how each culture reacts to one another; however, there is one issue, that when observing both sides of these cultural backgrounds, we see repeated over and over again between the two-that issue is racism. “Prejudice and discrimination are not alien to Hawai’i. Attitudinal surveys show definite racial preferences and sensitivity to color differences.” (Schaefer, pg 278) While a lot of this racism is said to be tied to the migration of the “multicultural nature of the Islands” (pg 278),…
