Earlier this week I was talking to a girl who's ethnicity was African American. This girl grew up in American and she seemed to have a similar lifestyle as me. We both have 2 parents who are still together, both of our parents are financial stable middle class Americans. However, the conversation shifted dramatically when the girl started talking about cops, she stated that cops are trying to kill all black people. I adapted my communication skills that i learned in class. Instead of going off on the girl and trying to battle with the person and say its not true, I said, “I unsterdtand you maybe frustrated with whats going on in the news right now with the cops and black lives matter cause.
