It is much to be said about an individual by the type of vehicle they drive, the way they dress and by how they interact with other people. Someone that is sarcastic all the time possess different values than a person that is polite all the time since they place a greater emphasis on respect for other people. Differences in values enhances the chances for conflicts. The United States is believed to be a culturally diverse society. Yet, it is perceived that the dominant culture of main stream society is a White Anglo-Saxon, Protestant Male. No matter how educated or successful an American Indian, African American or a Mexican American has become, they will never be identified as part of the dominant culture simply because they cannot change the color of their skin or the texture of their hair.
