Cultural Differences Between China And The United States

Haier is an international group, whose business comes from all over the world, so the business people should know about the difference between countries about values, culture, and ethical standards. We compare with China and America from six cultural dimensions to analyze those differences. For power distance, in high power distance culture, people's status have clear distinction, unequal distribution of power is regard as merited, people are used to accept the bosses’ opinions, demands, decision or command. In low power distance cultures, people think inequities within the groups and organizations should be minimized, between boss and subordinate should have equal rights. Confucianism is the core of Chinese traditional culture in China. Confucian moral ethics has a distinct hierarchy, which demands people to maintain the interpersonal relationship and grades, such as ”three principles and five virtues” ", it is an ethical generalization of the unequal relationship between people in feudal society. American culture is a kind of religious culture, the Christian religion is the mainstream of American culture.
