1. For me cultural competency is the ability for someone to have knowledge or experiences in other cultures besides their own. This entails actively learning and reflecting on one’s own culture and realizing similarities and differences between cultures. The country we live in is a very diverse place with people of all different walks of life amalgamate together. Being open to learn about different cultures can help create better relationships with people and can help when trying to understand someone else’s point of view.
