I will introduce the topic of cultural competency to my colleagues by addressing it, in the monthly staff meeting. At first I will assess their understanding of the topic and ask their views about the different cultures. I will have them fill out the check-list on cultural competence self-test, so they can identify their own communication style, values, beliefs and attitudes. It will help them to understand the difference between the cultures and the worldview. It will also help me, to plan a competency training session to eliminate the gaps that are identified.
