I will begin to become more culturally aware of how I act or interact when placed in a strange culture. I have been all around the world and I have experienced numerous cultures, but I never allowed myself to become more familiar with their background and cultural upbringing. My family and I have visited a number of places such as South Korea and Dubai. Normally I would speak to my family so they can become more educated and pay respect to the locals by being more culturally aware.
In my professional life if given the time prior to a deployment I will do some research on the culture of the country and the people. I will also take this lesson I have learned and share it among my colleagues. It’s another example of something I wish I had learned ten years ago and I could have applied it during my deployments to
