From the given articles and side research I found that cultural competence is defined as the ability of providers and organizations to effectively deliver health care services that meet the social, cultural and linguistic needs to patients. The more culturally competent the health care system is, the more help will improve health outcomes and quality of care. Cultural competence can help contribute the elimination of any racial and ethnic disparities; as well as to eliminate long-standing disparities in the health status of people of diverse backgrounds. This being said, we should all take further action when it comes to cultural competence, even in health care because we are all equal, we are all human beings that seek health care and should all be treated the same. The nation is only increasing in diversity and it cannot be stopped.
