Cultural competence is in my understanding as an educator is having personal beliefs and attitudes to allow you to accept, acknowledge and understand children’s cultures, cultural background and cultural heritage. I believe its accepting children for who they are embracing their individuality and uniqueness. Cultural competence is also working in conjunction with the Early Years Learning Framework, The National Quality Framework and the policies and procedures that are in place at the early education service in which you work.
