This resource kit was completed by the professionals of “Beautiful Little Souls”, with the intention to support the service’s staff in developing and acknowledging the importance of being cultural competent within the daily curriculum in the childcare centre. The information in this kit will assist the childcare staff to support children, families and co-workers from any diversity or cultural background.
This kit focuses in cultural competence, consequently the EYFL believes that cultural competence is: “much more than awareness of cultural differences. It is the ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures”. (Framework, p.16, 2009)
