With the recent election, universities have been facing an increase in bias and discriminatory attitudes, making the event timely. There has been an increasing variety of prejudicial and discriminatory acts against students based on their cultural backgrounds and social identities. These comments stem from judging others’ cultures based off of one’s own values, social groups or ethnocentrism (Greitemeyer, 2016). Those who don’t understand other people’s cultures often decide that it is unorthodox and doesn’t fit within their standards.
