Different cultures socialize in different languages and how one raises a child may be different from culture to culture. As one travels, we encounter different cultures and it is up to us to be respectful to their culture as much as possible. However, from travels we may encounter cultures who mimic or foster some same traits, experiences, or activities as ours. One of the groups that I can recognize with is that of the LGBT community, because I have friends who are a part of this group. I feel this group has had some huge obstacles due to “gay marriage” being a controversy in the United States. Another issue more recent is the transgender bathroom deal. We all have our arguments and agreements about certain matters, but I feel that members of this LGBT community should be able to participate in these matters. Not everyone is part of a particular religion and I do not see anything wrong with marrying someone you love. Marriage from the Christian point of view is between a man and women, but times are changing and so are people. People need to be more culturally aware of others, not everyone agrees with this matter. From this class I have learned about cultural awareness and I have applied it to this matter. I feel that people need to be educated more on cultural awareness to really appreciate others views and way of
