First, the most controversial definition of black would be how people view black culture. Some of the cultural stereotype of a african-american male are “ghetto” , “druggie” ,and “thief”.One difference that is constant in black culture would have to be the different perspectives. For example societies perception and personal perceptions. Society's perception is that any opinions that is given about a racial topic ,that is not their own is considered racist. My own personal opinion is that it's okay to voice your opinion as long the person knows that there are different groups within the cultures, and not generalize their opinions based on one group. Cultural Appropriation is another aspect of defining black. Cultural Appropriation is best defined as for the purpose of this essay “acting black” when someone takes on the characteristics of a race. For instance when a african-american military youth that has always had at least one parent with a steady income, has never had to worry about getting safely to school, wants to join a gang only because they want to “act black”.
