Violence is inevitable and there is a monumental amount of reasons why it progresses. Some of that reason may be the fact that it is a way to control others and influence them to take actions according to you. According to Miller on page 75, one of the dangers of anthropology is going to a foreign place and being attached. These attacks may be verbal or even sexual harassment. Though these actions do not actually answer why so many people are committing it, a better sense of knowledge is given as to how widespread it actually is.
Gender, much like race, is determined by biological, physical genitals that one has when they are born. For many, many years, the basics were as so: penis for a man and a vagina for women, distinguishing it from sex, which is a hormonal marker which further determines heather one is a man or woman. Anthropologists are trying to understand why sometimes this third gender is accepted by many groups. My understanding is that accepting a third gender is not necessary, but this change may progress people within different groups to move
