It is critical to never assume a patient’s religion based on their culture and to never assume they believe something because of their religion. While keeping these ideas in mind, a nurse should engage in conversation with a patient in a way that is respectful towards the individual’s beliefs. It is important to be aware that no matter what a patient’s religion is, it will always impact the way they make decisions about their health and body. Being aware of this, pediatricians can work to more readily make spiritual help for patients and their families. It is also important because understanding and respecting a family’s beliefs will help the doctor better help the family cope with the stress and sorrow they are going through when the lose a child or family
