Cultural Analysis Of Verizon

Decent Essays
Hello Jordon,
I agree with your analysis that Verizon is a market culture. I left Verizon over ten years ago as a customer, yes they had the best service but was lacking in customer service, and prices were way above competitors prices. I was tired of my bill being messed up and getting overcharged, and staying on hold for long periods of time while only waiting to speak to someone I couldn't understand from India. I agree that when going into the Verizon stores all the associates seem very knowledgeable and help all they can but its after you purchase the phone and have a problem is where the poor customer service experience happens (Jackson, et. al, 2017). At&t is biting at the heels of Verizon for that number one spot (Team, 2014). Also,

My friend just purchased the new iPhone 7 and needs to choose a phone carrier. There are two plans to choose from, Verizon and AT&T. I had to figure out which plan would be better, (cheaper), to recommend to my friend. AT&T offered a plan with a $.20 per text charge and a $15 initiation fee, while Verizon offered a plan with a $.10 per text message fee and a $70 initiation fee. I found, by comparing the two plans algebraically, that AT&T would be better if my friend is planning on sending less than 550 texts per month, and Verizon would be better if they are planning on sending more than 550 texts.…

    1. What are the main ideas of these two readings? (list at least 3) • In the American Cultural Configuration, Holmes emphasizes that American society is a culture full of fallacies and paradoxes in American logic. Some headings state a topic on how Americans believe in one way, but in reality, perform the opposite. For example, the paradox of education in America would be that while we value practical majors such as law, medicine, business, etc., they don’t really have the motivation to obtain it.…

Another reason Verizon performs better than other carriers are their locations ( De Looper, Christian-2014). It seems as if regardless of living in a large city, or small town, there is a Verizon store nearby. Consumers often enjoy coming into the stores, browsing at phone upgrades, or even coming in to get a broken or malfunctioning phone fixed. Whatever the consumer needs, Verizon can handle in person. There are sales people on the floor in each Verizon store, who encourage customers to upgrade their phones, or purchase extended plans (Chen, Brian-…

T-Mobile is good company for discussion. Consumers certainly know the brand and the quality of coverage, but T-Mobile differentiates its product offering by unlimited text, talk which is no hassle for many consumers who do not travel or spend time in the remote areas. T-Mobile still keeps the price competitive and the price discrimination for the similar product reduces consumer surplus. Companies mostly gain with a monopolistic competition or they will exist, but consumer experience no benefits. Shouldn't' the consumer experience such gain irrespective of their status such as poor or…

Zeitgeist is the spirit, attitude, or general outlook of a specific time or period, espas it is reflected in literature and philosophy (Dictionary.com, 2016). Many companies utilize Zeitgeist to give more of an edge to their “happening” products in the moment. One example is Verizon Wireless and how they utilize television commercials to tout their 4G service, ie: more is better. Zeitgeist takes a product that is current in society and boosts it. It sells the fact that you are getting more for your money; because 4G is better than 3G, so you actually get more if you go with this company.…

Ms. Bradigan has a very joyful personality and manages to maintain a professional image while cultivating a relationship with her customers. Having greeted us in a friendly manner, Mrs. Bradigan proceeded to ask pertinent questions about what we needed. America is a very liberal nation in terms of lifestyle. Although unique in its culture, some nations disapprove of the common way of life in the United States. There are many stereotypes about Americans that foreigners believe to be true. INTRODUCTION “Consumer culture” is a culture and lifestyle where personal social status and individual values are based around the consumption of goods and services, with an extremely large area of what you do, what you value and how you are defined and recognised in society all revolving around the consumption of goods. The article that will be discussed in this literature review is: “Low-income families and coping through brands: Inclusion or stigma?” which is written by Dr Kathy Hamilton, from the University of Strathclyde, in 2012. This article outlines research that was implemented and carried out in order to view the struggles that people encounter every day to avoid being socially stigmatised, and focuses primarily on low-income families…

What happens during the clashing of two or more cultures? I identify with two different cultures, Mexican and American, that are constantly clashing in almost every aspect and have clashed throughout most of my life. This consistent clash has conflicted with my own identity. This creates complications growing up because identifying with more than one culture cannot be considered a codominant identification but rather, one is always dominant and the other is recessive. Growing up, the expectation of conforming to a specific culture or culture appropriationthe contact zones become hazardous zones when it comes to whether these conformities are essentially a positive impact on members of a very mixed community.…
