The culture of Venezuela is one deeply rooted in the traditions of South American countries, Venezuela's national population is indicative of that as Venezuela boosts a populous similar to that of most other South American countries. Venezuela is a country of immigrants from all parts of the world. Venezuela has a strong national identity that mixes its indigenous people and colonial Spanish heritage. With Venezuela’s mix of indigenous, Spanish, European and African population, the ethnic relations in the country play a big rule in culture and society. Inflation has been crippling the Venezuelan economy and has led to recession in 2014. Although Venezuela possesses a lot of power in the international community as a result of its oil production, the Venezuelan economy is severely affected by the world market's demand and price.
