Culebra Description

Improved Essays
Some of the most phenomenal sites that rest on this planet, lie in the most bizarre places. One of the most astonishing sites that I have ever seen, rests on the coast of the tiny island Culebra. The basic description of it is a gathering of rocks that enclose a small area but really it is so much more. It lies just a few feet away from a waterfall, so in between the creases of the rocks, water can seep in, thus resembling a pool. Although the best part was, when the hot summer air mixed with the cool ocean water and created steam, then it was closer to resembling a hot tub. What also made this place amazing, was the view. When looking over the edge, you could watch the water run as it faded in the distance, tumbling down the distant waterfall.

In the trove of memories that I have from the visits to Florida, one in particular stands out. One day when we visited in June we went to Blue Springs park. It had crystal clear water so you were able to see 40ft to the bottom. After swimming in spring water for a while we rented canoes and went down the river it was connected to. We had enough fun after a couple hours and we were about to finish the day off by jumping off a 5ft ledge into the 40ft deep water.…

On June 29, 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt established Mesa Verde National Park to "preserve the works of man," the first national park of its kind.. Today, they continue preservation of both cultural and natural resources. It is the focus of the park's research and resource management staff. I wrote this essay to inform the 6th grade English class about the Mesa Verde National Park. It is vandalism wantonly to destroy or to permit the destruction of what is beautiful in nature, whether it be a cliff, a forest, or a species of mammal or bird.…

The Lava Beds National Monument, I believe would be a great place for students to learn about nature. Located on the border of California and Oregon, the lonely road leads to something amazing. To something some may consider as California's "best kept secret." The Lava Beds National Monument, is one of the most visited national monuments in America. It attracts only one hundred thirty thousand visitors each year but the "secret" underground caves and volcanic rock of the park is full of thrilling sights and history.…

When you see those pictures of clear watered, beautiful, and perfect small paradises, what do you think about? Do you think about where that could possibly be, or how that could exist. During the summer of 2014, my family and I enjoyed a vacation in one of the most beautiful place I have ever visited. My uncle had won a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the whole family and we were ecstatic to say the least. I remember looking at pictures of the unbelievable mansion we would be staying in called Casa China Blanca, but no picture captured how amazing it truly was. Although, the entire city was not as luxurious as our gated community, I still believe Puerto Vallarta is one of the most enjoyable places I have ever been to. Upon arrival, my family and I piled into the chaotic airport filled with hundreds of people.…

Colonial Social Class The first interesting topic I found on the website was about colonial social classes it went into detail about each social class within in that area, and about what each social class was entitled too. For instance, enslaved field hands such as field workers worked Monday through Saturday from sun up to sun down. These field hands mostly worked in the tobacco or cotton fields and they only had Sundays off for themselves. This form of labor was considered the most back breaking being they worked all day long until late at night.…

The "obscure" place I chose to write about is called Fier's Ship House in Albania, and I specifically chose this location because I actually grew up going to this boat a lot with my grandmother. In Albania, you can see around 7 of these boats that have been permanently left on the shallows of the beaches just by walking down the shoreline for 20 minutes. They're very beautiful and big boats, one I specifically remember had carnival rides on it, being so young that one was my favorite so my grandmother and I went there often when my family visited Albania. I didn't just decide to talk about these boats because I've been there before, but because a great majority of the memories I have of my grandmother are made up by these hour long adventures…
