Stephanie Banfield, who is the author of “The Truth Behind That Doggie in the Window”, claims the truth behind the puppies selling by pet stores. She points out that “puppy mills” breed doggies as many as they possibly can, and provide badly environment for doggies’ living to earn much more money. Finally,She finds several ways to encourage people to avoid purchasing dogs from “puppy mills”, and these methods are educating consumers, suggesting costumers to avoid buying from pet stores and to adopt homeless puppies. I agree the ideas she says, and I believe, instead of using the power of legal systems to stop puppy mills, educating consumers and giving them some advice are more effectively. Banfield thinks the first way to resist puppy mills is educating consumers.…

During my excursion to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, I quickly realized many of the emotional connections that humans and their canine pets share. Prior to visiting with the dogs, I made my way around the cat shelter area. After observing the cats, it became evident that their many of their “cute” behaviors were aimed solely at attracting the attention of potential human companions. For instance, a white cat named Sirocco made a distinctive pawing motion whenever I passed her cage, as if she was beckoning me to come closer and visit with her. Yet, after she had garnered my awareness, the snow colored tabby simply retreated back onto to her cardboard bed to continue her restful afternoon.…

While buying purebred puppies can be a tempting and aesthetically desirable purchase, a majority of puppies bought from pet shops are directly from puppy mills. These puppy mills are known as large-scale commercial dog breeding facilities which give revenue priority over the well-being of the dogs and puppies, ultimately resulting in sickly and unhealthy animals. Despite the immense abuse the dogs and puppies of the puppy mills endure, the large scale breeding of animals is still legal, forcing innocent animals to live in cruel conditions until they are ultimately moved to pet shops, or killed. Altogether, in order to protect the lives of innocent animals, puppy mills…

With this in mind, pets and consumers will be safer from the purchase of sick pets from the “backyard breeder” typically selling in these types of public places. ________________________________________________________________________ Evidence 3: Retail pet sale bans could be incorporated to allow only the sale of pets coming from local rescues and shelters. Petsmart is just one pet store currently involved in these type of programs for pet adoptions. Retail stores that are currently housing pets from the local rescues are helping curb the pet mills and saving animals from animals from euthanasia.…

Many dogs need to release the energy that increases throughout the day and giving them an outlet will make them too tired to destroy owners’ belongings. In addition to the obstacles, the parks can include other amenities such as dog run lanes, where owners can play with their dog free from anxiety and away from other dogs (APDT, 2016). In larger and more developed dog parks, amenities can include special events, educational opportunities, seminars, training classes, and some even offer “destination places for dogs and their owners” (Avrasin, 2004). Some parks can offer special days such as birthday parties, reunions, or any type of celebration event with the dogs as the “star” of the party. A dog park would provide a safe environment for exercise and play in fenced-in areas for dogs only, rather than in open areas such as a public park.…
