Introduction
The start of the existence of Earth and all the living and non-living life is formed into a variety of stories from different groups across the world. Many constantly wonder of the origins of how people came to be and the purposes that individuals hold. Paul Tillich, a Lutheran theologian, believed that secular and religious man are both deeply rooted in religion through ultimate concern and it is in the depth of the spiritual life that it provides substance, ultimate meaning, judgement, and creative courage. Ultimate concern is capable of manifesting itself into multiple dimensions of an individual. The Huron Indians were in frequent battle with the Iroquois. They would eventually come to settle in Ohio and participate in the American Revolution and War of 1812. By 1842, they would migrate to Kansas and then to Oklahoma in 1867. Their myth was not influenced by their migrations and Christianity. The Huron Indians were able to develop “double characteristics of most culture heroes and tricksters god. The Making of the World, good and bad were embodied by the deities of Tawiskarong and Tijuskeha. It was the moment where Tijuskeha, while in the womb, was compliant with natural birth that it shows how obedience was shown as good in contrast to Tawiskarong, who had disagreed with natural birth and killed his mother by bursting out of her side. In Genesis II, God tells Adam that he should not eat from the tree of knowledge and that is the first sin or bad action made when Adam eats from the tree. Unlike The Making of the World myth, good and bad are not separated into two but is determined through the action of obedience made by Adam and Eve. Another contrast is that The Making of the World made earth with the power of the woman. The woman was given a piece of earth that had expanded onto of a shell but her death brought vegetation and it was her sons that had the tasks of creating the animals for the land. In Genesis, God was the one who created Earth and only he was present throughout all the days of Earth’s creation. Lastly, there was an absence of human life in The Making of the World.
