Crystals Lab Report

Today I chose this experiment because I really wanted to try something new like Crystals.
I tought Crystals would be interesting and fun because I would see the process while Crystals Form. My experiment will Impact the world around me because It will show people a new way of how crystals will be formed. This will also help the world around me because It will let the People figure out the real cost of Crystals and how much could they earn growing them. Scientists or Geologists could figure out a more effective way to grow Crystals in non-common areas. This will help me understand the time it takes to built up and even how big can it grow in a timed process.

A fun fact of Crystals is that Crystals form when a liquid cools down and hardens.

This will be my dependent variable because It would be something I’ll be measuring and the one that depends on my independent variable. If I wasn’t to have an independent variable my experiment wouldn’t work. While doing my Experiment I would have to focus a lot in different stuff going on all at the same time. While I measure my Crystal I would also have to be looking around to see if anything else changed about it. If anything does change I would now have two different dependent variables as I will see it change. My Independent Variables in this case have to come out strong in order for my dependent variable to do so aswell. If I have a good strong Dependent variable at the end and If I see it really work thanks to my Independent variables I would be so happy they came out strong as I wanted them to. My dependent Variable may take a long time to change throughout the experiment. This could take days, weeks or months, it just depends on what surface it is on. While I measure and collect data about this I would also need to be looking over to my independent Variables because their as important as the dependent variable. I will try to gather a lot of information throughout this experiment and try to come up with new ways to explain what is going

The dependent variable would be the shells and what happened to the shells, if it breaks down. These three shells are different types than each other so they don't weigh the same amount. After the one week is up my partners helped me weigh all of the shells again, but first we have to wash and dry them so the excess amount of vinegar on the shells don't add weight to them. The shells are now washed and then put onto a scale, after 1 week cup one's shell now weighs 0.78g. The second cups shell now weighs 1.42g and last the third cup’s shell now weighs 0.45g.…

When beginning the experiment we observed and recorded the appearance of the materials in use like instructed. We weighed our materials out on a tared scale and placed them all in their corresponding test tube. We mixed and centrifuged our solution all three times for the appropriate times and decanted them accordingly. After getting all our liquid we heated up until a white solid formed, waited for it cool…

The chemistry rocket is the main test in this experiment, but it will have variables within its experiment. Based on the definition of a controlled variable from the article “Variables in your Science fair Project”, it means, “Controlled variables are quantities that a scientist wants to remain constant, and he must observe them as carefully as the dependent variables” (Variables in your Science Fair Project article 9). This means that the Hobbytown rocket must be tested first in order to have clear data to go off of to compare the Chemistry rocket’s height and endurance. The Chemistry Rocket has an independent variable and dependent variable. An independent variable is the variable that is changed, so in this case the independent variables is the baking soda and vinegar.…

When a scientist does an experiment in nature, it’s impossible for him to control everything that happens; hence the experiment is not one that is controlled. The independent variable is the different elevations in which he sets up the plots. He changed where each one was located. The dependent variable is how the trees and species migrated over time, as well as the effects on the wildlife and species in all thirteen of the plots. 9.…

After completing this project, there are some flaws and some things I would change. During the experiment, the materials that were first used did not work (bungee cord, tape, part of an old hat). It took one of the time frames we had for that day and we got no were. The next day is when everything ended up working. The materials that were used and seemed to work the best were simply just some rubber bands, metal poles, and some duct tape.…

The dependent variable in this experiment was how much the bath bomb would fizz when it was placed in a container of water. The objective of the experiment is to see the change in fizz when extra cornstarch is added to the typical bath bomb recipe.
