Mine, a product of Shotgun Films, the written creation of David Scullion, and direction by Simon Berry, has had many stops on the festival trail. Making the Official Selection list at DC Shorts 2016, LA Shorts Fest 2016, San Diego International Film Festival 2016, London Short Film Festival 2017, and the Cleveland International Film Festival 2017. The film has also been awarded with the Audience Choice Award at the San Diego Film Festival 2016. Speechless and not sure if you should laugh or cry, Mine is a blast.

Issues arise and they require a certain amount of critical thinking and the ability to think outside of the box. Being creative in your approach is essential to get the outcome that you desire. Diane's creativity shines in this short film. She takes what is seemingly a very, very bad situation and turns it into a learning experience for the two of them. The way Scullion and Berry go about the exposition of information is prolific inventiveness. Walter, who you might think is the victim, is actually a pretty messed up guy. You will giggle at Diane's first reaction of taking a nice big step away from him after he has stepped on the mine; however, the giggle goes away when she begins her interrogation. There is a time and place for everything though, right? No worries. After all, Walter's survival mode kicks in and even the audience is momentarily tricked into believing he is an adoring misunderstood husband. Be it friend, marriage or sibling. If you do not have trust you know what you got? One foot on a live mine. Let us all take a page from Walter and Diane Peterson's relationship book and just be open. Be careful not to sit on a lie, it might kill you. What starts out as a possible romantic walk through some beautiful nature turns dark barely two minutes into the film. While the pacing of the film does feel a little off at times and you might feel slightly rushed, by the time the film is through your emotions will not let you hold a grudge.
