Crusades… The “holy wars”, well they weren't exactly all that holy.There were a total of 8 official crusades, fought between the Christians, Byzantines and Muslims. Majority of the the crusades were fought between the Christians and Islamics (muslims). They fought over the holy city of jerusalem, which all three religions claimed to be their holy city. All three religions claimed jerusalem to be their holy city, because they believed in the same God. Although they were called the “holy wars”, they were nothing but holy. In fact most of the leaders went to war for more land, not for their religion.
