Document 4 states that the crusaders and venetians stormed constantinople,they sacked the city and destroyed magnificent buildings and sold relics in europe.From destruction the byzantine empire as a unit never recovered.It helped discredit the entire crusading movement.This is interesting to me because the crusades couldn’t make it to the holy land so they went to Constantinople and destroyed there city instead of theirs.
