Who were the crusades and what was there effect ?
The crusades were a series of holy wars ,to take back jerusalem lead by pope urban the second in 1095. The cause of the crusades was because the muslims took jerusalem and the christians want to take it back so they start a crusade known as the people's crusade. It started 1069 and ended on 1099 after jerusalem was captured.
