The Wild Beast by Peter Mass is a harsh reality into the world of human cruelty. This passage is very sinister because all of the horrendous things were done by humans. It was like these humans were animals because they did not have morals or a conscience. I also noticed the author didn’t seem to want to believe any of the refuges stories. “I wrote it down in my notebook but I didn’t believe it (Maass 474).”…

The rhetorical situation and context my paragraph responds to regards the difficulty of establishing an appropriate penalty for cases of animal cruelty. This paragraph will be my first paragraph, discussing how scientists have indicated that individuals who commit cases of animal cruelty are often perceived to suffer from a mental disorder (Wilson and Norris, 2003). Consequently due to the perpetrator’s inability to think rationally, sentences applied for these cases may be reduced and this in turn, has caused many perpetrators to become repeat offenders and also become violent towards humans. This notion will be explored by researching multiple sources that all utilize a variety of rhetorical devices such as literary devices and rhetorical…
