Cruel And Unusual Punishment Video Analysis

Decent Essays
In the video we see alot of people who were sterilized as punishment to whatever they had done and that is simply ridiculous. We had 8 year olds being sterilized because their teacher thought they were flirting with a boy. It is very cruel and unusual punishment yet the United States still allowed for it to happen. Even things such as cases where a girl gets raped and is sterilized because they say she was the one that put it upon herself. This is most definitely cruel and unusual punishment from the government. They could have taken different precautions if they really wanted to do something about it but because they thought they were bettering the country the continued butcher people and sterilize them.

Compensation should most definitely

There are those that go beyond their needs to save others but never save themselves. Individuals sometimes own an obsession with an idea that they will do anything to be superior in that concept, even ignore their own necessities. His cancer weakened him in many ways, but not in his way of attempting to succeed in matches for his team.…

Federal Government Should Outlaw Late-Term Abortion In 2013, reporter Sarah Terzo from Live Action News in Virginia indicated that late-term abortion clinic shoots babies through the heart with poison in order to kill them. This example is a good reason to why the federal government should be outlawing late-term abortion. No matter what situation the mother and fetus are in, every fetus should have the right to live a meaningful life. However, the federal government should outlaw abortion after the first trimester because many of the practices are inhumane, all fetuses should have the right to live, and the ways abortion can cause risks for the women. In 2008, a video was released by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that showed severe animal cruelty at Mowmar Farms Hog Confinement, located just outside of Fairmont, Minnesota (Genoways). The video showed employees prodding hogs too crippled to stand with electric prods and beating hogs repeatedly on their backs with metal gate rods (Genoways). Adding to this, the video also revealed the method the workers used to euthanize underweight piglets: a technique called thumping (Genoways). Thumping involves workers taking the piglets by their hind legs and smashing their skulls against the concrete floor. 1. The mate selection techniques depicted in the 2 videos are very different. In “The kidnapped Bride” the men actually physically kidnapped the women and most of the time keep the women until they get to the point where they no longer resist the kidnapping and accept the fact that they need to marry the man. In a few instances, such as the one depicted in the video, they let the girl go after a large amount of resistance but they curse the girl saying things like “her child will be an alcoholic” or “her mother-in-law will be cruel”. The women have virtually no say in who they will end up with.…

The Charleston Shooting has been front and center in the news world lately. Not only has it been relevant because of the atrocity of the crime like it has previously, but because Dylan Roof’s trial has been postponed to at least January and the jury will be appointed in November. Roof, a white man killed nine African Americans in the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church an establishment that meant a great deal to the community and its congregation. This case is relevant because it deals with many moral and ethical issues, but the one that will be analyzed in this case analysis is capital punishment also known as death penalty (CITE ARTICLE).…

Based on the video “The Released and The New Asylums” we watched in class mentally ill people are treated unfair and unjustly within the society, mental health system, and criminal justice system. They are groups of people who are classified as undesirable or someone who’s deviant. I do not understand why we decide to imprison the mentally ill people and wasting money in prisons instead of building an actual facility where they can be treated better. Where mentally ill will have help from people and take the medicine daily. But instead, the criminal justice system is just sending them out in the streets with two weeks’ worth of medicines and to follow up with a physician.…

I am very surprised by this video and what I learned in it. I could not imagine being taken from my home to go to a boarding school to learn a certain way of life. America was founded on the idea of freedom and this is not at all a reflection of that. Those children grew up learning a completely different way of life compared to what they should have learned. At those boarding schools one of the ladies said they had belts without buckles on it for whipping them.…

“Why We Should Televise Executions” -Is seeing some over-the-top explosions and cartoonish violence from a show, comic, or game comparable to the real thing? No it is not and I propose that to educate the masses and show them what real pain and suffering is like we should have the media televise live executions. It should come as no surprise to anyone that people have an inordinate interest in crime and crime control and in this day and age we can have front row seats to see all sorts of security footages, longwinded trials, and gratuitous amounts of gore and violence. While I don’t really agree or disagree with what people watch in their pastimes, to each their own, I will however raise an objection when someone make the blanket statement…

M.I.A.’s song “Born Free” has an extremely controversial music video that raises awareness to the fact that oppression and discrimination are still extremely relevant in todays modern society. The director of the music video is Romain Gavras. The way the electronic music duo delivered their message has been criticized for being far fetched because it depicts a government like group geocoding innocent redhead boys. Instead of analyzing the video as being too far fetched, I believe M.I.A. uses this format to prove a point that no matter who it is being marginalized in society, they are still just a group of people that have minor differences from other groups of people. I can not imagine anyone in the world would agree that other people…
