Gay men make up 61% of the population that has HIV. Many of the people who are infected with HIV do not know that they are infected and end up spreading. According to CDC "A recent CDC study found that in 2008 one in five (19%) MSM in 21 major US cities were infected with HIV, and nearly half (44%) were unaware of their infection." HIV is a sexually transmitted disease and unless you have sexual contact with the infected person then you are clean and free. Once that person knows that they have HIV they will most likely get the help and treatment they need and deserve. Mental health is another possible issue. From the pressure of trying be accepted or trying to fit in to trying to come out it can be a huge toll on a person. People fail to realize that if it were them they most likely they couldn’t handle the pressure either. Not only will they have to deal with the pressure at home but also the pressure from society. From personal experience I can say that it doesn’t bother me. My closest friend is gay and I know personally how he has to deal with certain things. I have and never will judge him for being homosexual. How he decides and still is deciding to live his own life will never affect me. I feel that everyone, no matter sexual orientation, deserves love. If someone doesn’t agree with the lifestyle someone else chooses to live then all they need to do is ignore
