Importance Of Homosexuality: Crucial Warning To Our Society

Homosexuality- Crucial Warning to Our Society? Homosexuality should never offend anyone it does not concern. What others do with their life and how they choose to live will not affect you in anyway. No matter what anyone’s preferences are they should not be judged on what they like or what they chose to do. Personally I accept homosexuality and the people who are homosexual. Hey should be able to express themselves the same way that people who are not homosexual express themselves. According to the First Amendment everyone has the freedom of expression. Just because someone doesn’t agree with the lifestyle a person decides to live does not give them the right to ridicule their choice. The people in the church can be big hypocrites. Gay men make up 61% of the population that has HIV. Many of the people who are infected with HIV do not know that they are infected and end up spreading. According to CDC "A recent CDC study found that in 2008 one in five (19%) MSM in 21 major US cities were infected with HIV, and nearly half (44%) were unaware of their infection." Also according to CDC, “Young MSM (ages 13 to 29) were most severely affected, representing more than one quarter of all new HIV infections nationally (27 percent; 12,900 in …show more content…
HIV is a sexually transmitted disease and unless you have sexual contact with the infected person then you are clean and free. Once that person knows that they have HIV they will most likely get the help and treatment they need and deserve. Mental health is another possible issue. From the pressure of trying be accepted or trying to fit in to trying to come out it can be a huge toll on a person. People fail to realize that if it were them they most likely they couldn’t handle the pressure either. Not only will they have to deal with the pressure at home but also the pressure from society. From personal experience I can say that it doesn’t bother me. My closest friend is gay and I know personally how he has to deal with certain things. I have and never will judge him for being homosexual. How he decides and still is deciding to live his own life will never affect me. I feel that everyone, no matter sexual orientation, deserves love. If someone doesn’t agree with the lifestyle someone else chooses to live then all they need to do is ignore

Some may think that in order to treat different people equally, we must give them all the same treatment. In a quote by Harry Blackmun, former US Supreme Court Justice, he said, “In order to treat some persons equally, we must treat them differently.” What did Blackmun mean by this? I believe that Blackmun was trying to say that different people need to be treated differently. Wouldn’t you treat a baby different from an adult?…

Everyone has their own opinion in life but accepting each other for who they are is always necessary. The gay option is written by Stephanie Fairyington and it describes her life growing up and the way she was treated for being gay. She states how not everyone accepted her for who she was including her own family. “If there were a straight pill,” I lamented, “I’d swallow it faster than you could say the word gay” (Fairyington 50). She explains that being gay isn’t something that she can change but she would if she could.…

For this reason, the Church has always been careful in their choice of word to balance human reason and divine revelation, to avoid misleading the people of God. Secondly, though the Church had delayed responding to the homosexual crisis, the ripe moment came for the Church, and she uses her authoritative non-definitive doctrine to respond. The faithful are therefore called to submit their will and mind, own and follow it because it is understood that God has granted to the Magisterium special charism received through episcopal succession to guide God’s people to the truth. Therefore, I am challenged to follow the timely teachings of the Church on homosexuality as stated in Amoris Laetitia, to respect and avoid any form of discrimination, violence or aggression. “Every person, regardless of sexual orientation, ought to be respected in his or her dignity … while avoiding every sign of unjust discrimination is … avoided (276).…

Regardless to how one feels about it, everyone has the same right and the same freedom to do whatever they choose to do as long as it does not cause harm to anyone else. Same sex marriage does not cause harm to anyone. This is a matter of two people coming together for the sake of love who want to spend their life together. They should not have their civil rights violated just because they want to take a path that is not familiar or popular. They should not be judged critically because they do not fit into what has been known to be traditionally correct or politically correct.…

I believe that all people should be treated with equality. I’ve been supportive of gay marriage and equality ever since I was little. First was the little comments, then the debates on TV, then was the back and forth opinions from my family.…

I have never take issue with a person's choice of who to love or what they choose to do in the privacy of their home. Because I was raised to be tolerant and love everyone, I consider myself a straight ally to the gay community. By not being a member, I can see a need for legal aid within the community and recognized that despite Supreme Court Rulings, and societal advancements the LGBT community is often still marginalized.…

I have several gay family members and friedns. I think I am one that, deep down inside believe gay and lesbians should have every right as heterosexuals. But there is still a part of me that does feel a bit awkward any time the subject is presented. I think I get uncomfortable at times because of the long history of our society’s norm and what sometimes seems to be a universal belief or question if being gay or a lesbian is right. My initial reaction wants to be based off what the norm should be, but really what is normal these days.…
