Ch4: Culminating Conversation With the advancements in technology, many people see it as a way to expand knowledge, but some will see it as a distraction. Connection to Fierce Conversations: Since this is the conclusion of the book the whole section gives a recap of what fierce conversations are and why they are necessary. Overall, from reading my sections and listening to my fellow classmates discuss their sections I now see how important it is to have fierce conversations. In order to have a fulfilling life people must come out from behind themselves and say what is on their mind. Essentially, this book reminds people how to be effective communicators, all while getting things done. I am the primary staff person who coordinates the Career, Research and Innovation Development Conference (CRIDC). I have worked with Graduate SGA since 2009, working with eight other graduate coordinators; Sang is the most dedicated student I have had the pleasure to work. CRIDC Georgia Tech’s flagship spring event for graduate students which includes, employer panels, poster competition and this year first graduate career fair. In academia, debate continues to rage on between the distinct differences between the disciplines of History and Political Science. The overlaps of the works that each discipline includes and the fluctuations of the way to study each discipline has fueled the debate. This makes it hard to identify the specific distinctions between the two. Jack S. Levy, in Too Important to Leave to Others: History and Political Science in the Study of International Relations, argues that history “Explains the connections between a series of events” while political science shows the “Relationships between variables or classes of events (32)," and that both optimize the use of theory to suit their distinct differences. To go about setting up his argument, Levy brings up the most common agreed upon distinction between history and political science that cotemporary analysts agree on, which is the idiographic and nomothetic distinction.…
Module 3, Self-Improvement provided a lot of useful information; however, the most important concept that stood out to me was the Adaptation-Innovation (A-I) Theory. Until today I have only supervised one Airman, and the A-1 Theory has helped me better understand myself, current, and future subordinates. The most powerful learning experience at this point in my program would be the continue support that I received from my instructors, peers, and the resources, specifically from the Webinars. As I evaluate my learning at this point, I am achieving more than I thought I could have done. I am progressing one step at a time.
