A cross-sectional observational retrospective study was performed. Data from 2011 till 2015 were extracted from Electronic Medical Records (Cerner) from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). Hospitals included Al Khor Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital, Cuban Hospital, Hamad General Hospital, Heart Hospital and National Center for Cancer Care and Research (Al Amal). Patients participated were using dabigatran or rivaroxaban and they were either in-patients or out-patients and took at least one dose of the medication. Patients were excluded if their order of any dabigatran or rivaroxaban was canceled. Finally, an ethics approval was obtained from Institutional Review Board (IRB) to conduct this
