Cross-cultural differences between Russia and Egypt Domestic violence has gone on for a very long time. Depending on where you live your interpretations of domestic violence could be different. Some view violence as acts of assault and should be prohibited while others may say that it is necessary and promotes obedience. There are millions of vulnerable people on this earth that do not have the independence that they would like. In some countries one gender could be predominating and have the most control over their spouse and family. Both countries have constitutions that are emplacing for a good reason. Between the both of these countries they both do poorly when it comes to taking action to domestic violence. Russia does not really care about the issue and views it as not of importance. Egypt most likely views it as the same way but Egypt is definitely more underdeveloped then Russia. Being underdeveloped really makes a difference because of the huge control that religion and belief on equality. Russia and Egypt both seem to be going nowhere when it comes to address the issue of domestic violence. Egypt also has a lot more history when it comes to mistreatment of women. The issue of domestic violence as a whole is very similar when it comes to vulnerability. A lot of people that live in Egypt have a mentality of I provide, I give a roof over the head you are my belonging. This is usually the male figure in the family that has this mentality and its not just Egypt. Overall the two countries are quite similar when it comes to domestic violence; both countries neglect the issue and pushes it a side for more important
